New Start

Hello everyone!

There was a break there while I got myself together after the deployment of my husband. Now that things have calmed down I want to get some serious speed behind our group.

1. I want to have a serious spouses party I am going to need help to get it off the ground if you can help please send me and e-mail and let me know what you can do to help with the party that will be happening in June.

2. I want to have a Spouses Book Club. I know it's hard to stay busy when spouses are gone and I would like to help everyone make friends doing something fun.

3. I want to start planning places for us to go together. I would nothing expensive or far but it would be fun to go places with other spouses.

If there is anything you would like to add to the group let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!-Tessie

Burrito Sale and Other News

Alright we are now getting geared up for the next burrito sale. We will be advertising for the week of 12-16 and the actual delivery of the burritos will happen on Monday the 19th. I need cooks and drivers. If you want to help out please let me know.The money will be going to helping out the halloween party. Please spread the word about the Halloween party to the spouses ALSO if you know a SFS spouse that is not part of the squadron invite them also! We all go through the same things! Thank you to all of those volunteering to bring goodies for the party on the 30th! I look forward to seeing all there. Also I want to think about getting volunteers together for making thanksgiving food for the those who have to work on thanksgiving! So if there are any volunteers for that let me know so we can get that up and running!-Tessie

Burrito Sale/ Halloween Party

Alright Spouses, we have sold our burritos and we are on our way to having another sale. For this time I am going to need two types of volunteers I need the people that will make the Burritos and I need the drivers. I want to begin advertising soon so could you please e-mail me with which job you will handle.

We have moved our Halloween party for the kids to the 30th. I was notified that there is something going on on the 24th. So the 30th get the little one's dressed up and head over to Ramstein to have fun with your fellow spouses!

I am going to need volunteers for this also! We need lil snacks for the kids and drinks. If anyone has any ideas for halloween games for the kids or movies or music to show let us know please! I want to show you that we appreciate the kids also!

Fundraiser update!

So I am so excited to annoce that we did make some money with our fundraiser! We are on our way to having out halloween party for the kids on the 24th of october. Bring other spouses with you to the party!If you have ideas you would like to contribute to the party or for another fundraiser feel free to e-mail me.

We are considering trying to bring the two cop squadrons together as one. If you have any feelings about this what so ever let me know.

We are having another Burrito Sale in about two weeks. We want to make sure to hit the squadron with our sale this time. We are going to have people making the burritos and then we will have the drivers who deliver them. I need to know who wants to do what. I e-mail all orders out the day before delivery and the drivers will be assigned to a cook and that is the orders they will be in charge of delivering for that morning.

I will not be here the whole month of Dec. So we will close out our year with a Spouses party sometime soon. If you would like to help out with that let me know!

If you have someone that would like to join the group or you know of a new spouse please let them know they are more than welcome to attend the meetings and to come to our outings. The group is here for everyone!

Gina Frank notified me that there are cameras out on the autobahn and that if you are caught by two of them the fine is hefty and you could have your license removed. So please be safe and drive within the speed limit.

Burrito Sale

We decided on in the last meeting to have a breakfast burrito sale. We want to raise money for all the various activties that we want to plan and have fun with. In order to do the burrito sale we are going to need donations of materials.

Sausage
eggs
bacon
tortillas
cheese
foil
juice boxes
napkins

I think that is it if anyone knows of something else that needs to be used to make these let me know. If you are able to give these items please e-mail me at outoftheboxpreschool@googlemail.com The burrito sale will take place on the 24th of Sept.

We are also planning a Halloween party for the kids so we will need volunteers and donations for that also. We will be having that the weekend before Halloween. The location has not been determined as of yet. We should have that in the next couple of weeks.

I will be gone the month of Dec until the 6th of Jan so Michelle Dicks will be running the show in my absence. If she is not here then it will fall to Jessica Andreasen.

If you have any ideas for fundraisers let me know! We want you to all feel included. Please promote the group! You come in contact with a new SFS wife let her know we exist and bring her to the meetings. The meetings are the third saturday of every month unless otherwise noted in the blog or the newsletter. They are held at the Golfcourse Cafe :).

This months meeting will be held on the 12th instead due to the fact that I will be out of town on the 26th at a Kindermusik Conference. Thank you all for your support and I will see you at the meeting.

Ramstein Talent Show

So getting the second fundraiser off the ground has been alot of work. The group is registered and we have our officers which I will post up here later. I opened up the bank account approved the flyer's a posters and now I am just trying to spread the word about the talent show and hoping people want to perform!

If you are looking at this trying to decide if you want to join this group then I seriously would love it if you would. This is a group for spouses formed by spouses. We are hard at work thinking of things that will pull the squadron together and help us to have a strong backbone for our significant others when they are gone.

Security forces spouses have it hard. We have many deployments and long hours and our days off are constantly in danger of being taken away due to training commitments. It is easier to deal with all the things we are constantly worrying about if we have other people who will worry about these things with us.

The goals of this group is to provide support for the spouses and their children and to have fun! I hope that this talent show is the first of many fun ventures that will be put on by the group and that we will come into more and more members. :)

435th Security Forces
